We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.Job DescriptionRole Purpose:The management of the planning team in order to ensure preparation, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle, including progress tracking, schedule forecasting, ad hoc reporting, maintaining the relevant systems.Accountable and responsible for the delivery of cost engineering services such as forecasting, cash flows, performance analysis, interface with finance, reporting.Accountable for leading the team during the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.Accountable for ensuring schedules and plans are documented and auditable and that project schedules and plans maintained and issued in a controlled manner. Supervises and manages the Planning team in terms of delegating work, reviewing the work output of the team where appropriate, providing guidance and support, and managing the development of the Planning team members.Is the focal point for all aspects of planning support to the organization, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the Planning team and shall be responsible for ensuring systems, process, procedures and standards are maintained and developed as required.Accountable for ensuring that the procedures and systems are improving as areas of best practice are identified.Accountable for leading the Document Control Team and function (performance, processes, systems)Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:Responsibilities:Delivery of project cashflows, project revenue forecasts, monthly cost reports per project L3 and aboveAnalysis of cost performance on projectsPlanning focal point for all planning activities in the Design UnitReview and maintain planning control structures are developed and maintained in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycleLiaise with the project team, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.Analyse project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements.Analyse project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements and provide analysis and recovery suggestions to the Project Managers and Director of ProjectsReview and analyse updates to project plans and schedulesReview and analyse updates to project manpower requirementsAssess and communicate schedule impact of change notificationsMonitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.Chair internal project progress and performance status meetings as requiredDeliver accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules.Chair schedule and cost risk analyses as requiredLead Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement ReviewsPlay a key role in the mentoring and career development of Planning personnelEstablish a fully operational document control team including processes, systems and competent personnelEnsure the delivery of weekly document control status reportsLead project controls systems roll out activitiesAccountable for ensuring that:Monthly Cost Reports are accurateMonthly Cashflows are accurateProject Revenue forecasts are accurateProject schedules are maintained in accordance with approved contract and project Work Breakdown Structure.Project plans and schedules are issued in accordance with contract reporting calendar and on an as required basis.All project schedules are fully logic linked and show the critical path and total float for all activities.The project schedule is baselined at the time of approval by the client of funding for the project.All project schedules contain resources in accordance with the corporate standardsKey Result Areas:P6 Resource loaded schedule per project updated weekly with progress, shown against the project Engineering, Cost ControlAdvanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levellingAdvanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for SchedulingAdvanced understanding of CTRsAdvanced understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilitiesAdvanced ability to develop
