About the roleIn this role, you will be responsible to assist the VP Operations in planning and developing infrastructures that enable delivery of enhanced level of Cargo handling operations in line with tonnage and station growthAs part of your role, your additional responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:Development, monitoring and for maintaining adequate oversight of cargo warehouse operations and freighter ground handling operations globally ensuring safe and secure outcomes, and compliance with company and the relevant regulatory requirements.Implementing solutions for the continuous improvement of the Cargo Department safety management system, quality assurance, global sanctions and compliance program, dangerous goods and security management system to meet the requirements of the department, company and regulatory authorities.Managing the day-to-day administration of the safety management system (SMS) on behalf of the nominated person for ground handling – cargo.Improving the safety culture and managing the hazard identification and risk management program that impacts cargo and freighter operations ensuring safe operations and improved performance.Responsible for the Cargo Operations documentation system, developing, approving and publishing manuals, procedures and notices.Responsible for regulatory, compliance and certification audits i.e. QCAA, IOSA, CEIVs etc and the Cargo inspection program.Development, planning and monitoring of training for Cargo Department and external parties.QualificationsAbout youBachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 10 years of job-related experience within the airline industryStrong knowledge of ground handling operations and cargo commercial and operational processes and managementAdvanced knowledge of airline safety, security, audit and complianceExcellent spoken and written English skills with strong negotiation, persuasion and influencing capabilitiesAbility to work with cross- functional and multi-cultural teams at all levels in a faced- paced working environmentAbility to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levelExperience and ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow with strong mentoring and coaching skillsApplication GuidelinesEmployees must submit applications through internal vacancies portal (via GEMS) only.Please see below for all eligibility and requirements for internal applications and please note that any applications not meeting the criteria will not be processed.All internal candidates can only have three active applications at any point in time.All internal candidates must have completed a minimum 10 months in their current role in order to apply for a new roleAll internal candidates with an active final warning letter will be automatically disqualified from the recruitment processIf you are a Deck Crew (Qatar Airways & Qatar Executive) candidate, you would require a NOC to apply for this role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
