Job SummaryCommercial Bank Innovation Services is looking to hire a Credit Officer. The Credit Officer position is accountable for the entire credit granting and monitoring process, including the consistent application of credit policy/criteria, Approved Company List management for Retail Lending, assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, CPV function monitoring, periodic credit reviews of existing portfolios by in-depth analysis, and providing feedback on the performance of the policies.Key AccountabilitiesRetail Credit OperationsConduct underwriting activities (i.e., analyzing credit applications, reviewing credit bureau reports, deciding/recommending loan applications) and ensure quality and adherence to credit policies/criteria.Maintain the Approved List of Companies for Retail Lending.Conduct post-review on applications approved by business and highlight the errors to the business as a part of ongoing training to reduce the error rate to 0%.Attend to business inquiries related to various product policies.Support in enhancing retail lending automation projects.Other AccountabilitiesCredit MonitoringIdentify and report early warning signs of deterioration and follow up with relevant business counterparts in order to proactively deal with any issues.Prepare required reports and dashboards, including financing volume reports for use in planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.Review and propose policy/criteria changes as needed.Monitor and control performance of product campaigns.Monitor employer-level performance and recommend appropriate actions.SkillsQualification and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a business-related major or equivalent ANDA globally recognized post-graduate degree or equivalent professional qualifications from a globally recognized institute in finance, economics, and accounting (e.g., CFA, CA, CIMA, MBA) + Credit or Risk qualification from banking bodies or FRM or PRM is preferable.Minimum Experience:Around 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking and corporate credit functions, including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.2-3 years of local / GCC experience would be a significant advantage, indicating a deep understanding of Gulf-based corporate business clients, economic sectors, macro-economic factors, and related country risks.Fair understanding of / experience in assessing contract finance, real estate finance, corporate banking (big, mid, and SME), as well as Factoring / Trade Finance proposals.Key InteractionsAll related department heads and staff.CompetenciesAdaptability/FlexibilityCreativity/InnovationDecision Making/JudgmentDependabilityInitiativeIntegrity/EthicsPersonal OrganizationPlanningProblem Solving/AnalysisProductivityQualityResults FocusSelf DevelopmentSense of UrgencyStrategic Thinking/ManagementVision and ValuesSkillsAbility to interact with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work under pressureArabic speaking preferredAwareness of local cultural and social factors, and labor law provisionsBilingual (Arabic & English)Knowledge of various aspects of government requirements and processes of visas, work permits, medical clearance, etc.Numerical skillsProficiency in oral and written English & Arabic (preferred).Risk ManagementTime Management skillsEducationBachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business-related major.#J-18808-Ljbffr
