Job Description The Chief Financial Officer and his/her teams will be responsible for: Financial planning Budget development, budget analysis and execution Testing, refinement and implementation of allocation methodologies Maintenance of complex, integrated accounting systems Accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, cashier functions, banking, internal controls, procurement, costing analysis, and financial reporting The CFO's responsibilities include: Contributing to the development of University-wide strategic planning Directing the formulation and execution of the University’s financial plans and operations Participating in developing action plans and major programs for the department Supervising the implementation of approved action plans and programs Coordinating, supervising and organizing work within Financial Affairs’ sections and the department Proposing suitable financial policies and procedures Issuing internal instructions for proper conduct of work within the department Serving as a chair or a member in committees and taskforces Detailed Duties: Overseeing the integration of all financial functions Establishing metrics to measure and motivate business unit performance Developing short- and long-term fiscal strategies aligned with the Strategic Plan Directing the formulation and execution of the University’s financial plans Advising on budget allocation and administration Providing financial oversight to core service functions of the Sections Representing the University in external finance-related negotiations Managing relationships with College and Department finance officers Providing leadership on financial reporting and analysis Performing fiscal analyses for legislative and campus-wide initiatives Analyzing revenue streams and proposing alternative strategies Assessing and strengthening resources within the organization Ensuring timely completion of financial statements and external audit coordination Supervising employees in annual budget development Good decision-making related to departmental matters Minimum Qualification A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field is required, along with certification as a CPA/CA. Preferred Qualification Master's degree in a relevant field and certification as a CPA/CA. Expected Skills Rank/Experience/Skill Set Fifteen years of fiscal management experience with at least five years in senior positions.
